Much of the content on site is under copyright protection. Not because anyone wants to make any money, but simply so the books can continue to be published.  None of the publishers makes any money off the publications, with the possible exception of the books published by SUNY Press.  But the electronic publication on the Internet is a threat to re-publication of the books, and no one really wants that to happen.  As it is now, the money which comes from the publications goes right back into republishing them.

The Chiltern Yoga Trust holds copyright for many of Swami Venkatesa’s publications, including The Song of God (the Bhagavad Gita) and the Supreme Yoga (a daily readings version of the Yoga Vasistha.

The Divine Life Society, in Rishikesh has  published some titles, most recently (with the assistance of Swami Lakshmi of the Chiltern Yoga Trust) they have put out a larger version edition of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali with lots of commentary.  It is recommended to those seeking to learn about the Yoga Sutras.

Anahata Press has also published a new U.S. publication of   the Yoga Sutras. New York State University Press also publishes a number titles, among them, The Concise Yoga Vasistha.

Commercial publication of site content
without prior permission is prohibited.

Students and "seekers" are encouraged to print out the material for for their own personal use and individual study, and to meditate upon the wealth of practical wisdom that Swami Sivananda and Swami Venkatesa have left as their legacy. Toward that end, we will be providing Adobe PDF files in the future. We still encourage you to obtain the books because, let's face it, they are more perfect medium for ongoing and prolonged study.  Click on the link for "book publishers" if you wish to learn more about obtaining the books.
